There is nothing more human than the need to be wanted, to hope for companionship, to look for a person who will desire you, who will love you. In a hyper-capitalist system that promotes every need into economic transaction, everything is exploitable.
Dating apps have been built on these unmet needs of the individual for the last decade. Applications that promise you that by creating a profile you will find your partner, the match you are looking for. A pool of people who, hidden behind a profile, often misleading, feel admired, counting the likes of so many, taking strong doses of self-confidence.
However, the reality cannot be seen sooner or later. It's a delusion that usually works for easy sex, one that doesn't expose you to flirting like it does in the real world outside of computers. Parallel hidden relationships, which are only companionable and not in the non-superficial sense.
If you want to meet someone, the best way is to have friends, have a social life to be able to create real relationships. The change in dating may be on a new path without waiting for your AI avatar to be included among the 600 others to find the right match.
Denial in apps, imagination, association and searching for the other in the real world, may lead to a different path. On a path that will not be of the free market that interferes with sex life, companionship or that unique, simultaneously complex and complicated mystery called love.
